Position Summary
The EdTech fellow helps manage and develop digital training opportunities for AFS staff and volunteers. The position is remote and part-time (~25 hrs/week) for a period of 12-18 months.
Key Responsibilities
- Enroll and follow up with participants in different online courses;
- Track participation, completion, and satisfaction rates of online courses;
- Manage content on the Learning Management System (LMS);
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with LMS;
- Review, revise, and update existing online content on a regular basis;
- Help with course marketing and communication;
- Liaise with the Facilitators’ Community Manager as needed;
- Research on new digital learning opportunities and tools for staff and volunteers;
- Support the creation of new volunteer and staff training initiatives (online and in-person);
- Support development of new digital volunteer management tools;
- Coordinate with Partners on volunteer & training projects as needed.
Relevant experience and mindset
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent lived experience preferred
- Interest in Intercultural Learning and organizational development;
- Excellent organizational skills; structured and detail-oriented while able to remain flexible in coordinating both people and processes;
- Able to think outside of the box, be proactive and solution-oriented, and have a good sense of humor;
- Be comfortable with ambiguity and able to remain flexible when plans change;
- Comfortable working on multiple projects with tight deadlines;
- Experience working with Learning Management Systems and digital content creation tools preferred;
- Basic knowledge of WordPress preferred;
- Comfortable using Google Apps and Adobe Acrobat (Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator experience a plus);
- Have excellent spoken and written English skills (fluency in two or more languages – especially Spanish preferred).
Location and Salary
This is a part-time outposted fellowship position: candidates are welcome to apply from anywhere in the world, as long as they are willing to work Eastern Standard Time (NYC) hours. The monthly stipend is $1000 USD. Start date is April.
