AFS Intercultural Programs is an international, voluntary, non-governmental, non-profit organization that provides intercultural learning opportunities to help people develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful world.

AFS Global Impact Fund

Help AFS make change happen worldwide. Your contributions to the AFS Global Impact Fund will enable more talented students from all backgrounds to build global competence, host families around the world will be better prepared for their intercultural experiences, and 50,000+ AFS volunteers will receive robust training on how to lead their communities. This fund is established and run by AFS International.

AFS A. Piatt Andrew Endowment Fund

The AFS A. Piatt Andrew Endowment Fund was established to honor the legacy of A. Piatt Andrew, the founder of AFS to benefit the AFS mission today. Any donation will be added to the endowment and help AFS meet its mission of providing intercultural learning opportunities to help people develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful world. Support AFS in the country of your choice

54 National AFS Organizations work together to accelerate the collective impact of our not-for-profit. Choose a country and your contribution will be transferred directly to that AFS organization, helping them give more scholarships for young students, offer support to host families, or provide training opportunities to local volunteers.

How do I apply for a "company match" so that my employer can double my donation?

You can start by checking if your company offers a matching program online at doublethedonation.com/matching-gift-search. If you don’t see your company listed, check with your human resources department. They will provide you with your company’s matching form and requirements, if available.

Where does the money go when I donate "unrestricted funds"?

How do I include AFS in my will or trust?

Naming an organization in your will or trust is commonly referred to as a “bequest” or “planned giving.”

If you would like to remember AFS Intercultural Programs, Inc. in your will or trust, you may simply include a specific dollar amount or percentage of your estate assets, and include that in your official will or trust documents. For example:

“I hereby give to AFS Intercultural Programs, Inc., a New York nonprofit corporation with its principal offices at 5 Hanover Square, Suite 1402, New York, NY 10004 (the sum of $____) or (____% of the residue of my estate) to be used for its general purposes.”

Is my donation to AFS tax-deductible?

Certain donations to AFS are tax-deductible, namely donations to AFS International, AFS-USA and all of our global funds (such as the AFS Global Impact Fund, Covid-19 Response Fund, Volunteer Ambulance Drivers Fund etc.). Donors to these will receive a tax receipt with your acknowledgement. Direct donations to AFS in other countries through our website are not tax-deductible, and donors receive an acknowledgement only.
