As we present the AFS Intercultural Programs 2024 Annual Report, we are driven by a profound sense of purpose. Our vision at AFS is to ensure a more peaceful, just, equitable and sustainable future. Active Global Citizens are key in ensuring such a future, especially in an increasingly interconnected yet polarized world. Our strategic actions throughout 2024 ensured that our programs, education initiatives, volunteerism and advocacy efforts help create Active Global Citizens.
Our founders, the AFS ambulance drivers, understood this imperative to bridge divides. In 2024, AFS committed to a new four-year strategy that proudly upholds this timeless mission. We defined Active Global Citizens as individuals guided by an informed, compassionate, and ethical compass, contributing to collective well-being. Everything we do champions a whole-person, lifelong learning approach, rooted in experiential engagement, and empowering learners to address pressing global issues, aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We are committed to equipping individuals to navigate our complex world with confidence and purpose.
Over the next four years, we will expand scholarship opportunities, deepen educational partnerships, cultivate an even larger and more empowered volunteer community, and deliver excellence across all our programs. In 2024, we laid a strong foundation for this work, as you will discover on the pages of this Annual Report. This work is only possible thanks to the incredible work of our AFS Network colleagues and volunteers around the world, and thanks to the support of our partners, donors and alumni.
