Position Summary
AFS International is looking for a Program Operations Quality & Compliance Specialist to join the Global Programs team. In this position, you will support our exchange program operations, including hosting, sending, and educational programming across our diverse program portfolio. You will also ensure adherence to standard processes, drive continuous improvement, and foster a culture of quality within the organization. The Specialist will collaborate with different units across AFS International and report to the Deputy Chief Programs Officer.
Location
The position is full-time, based in our office in NY, or remote from a location with at least a 4-hour overlap in working hours with the NY team can be ensured. Candidates not based in the US are considered with possible verification of employment in their home countries or with the ability to work as a consultant.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Implement and oversee network-wide program-related processes including (Student Learning Journey enrollment, Master
- Travel Plan setting, Program Offering creation, matrix planning, Marketplace Management
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure network compliance with internal processes
- Develop, update, and maintain operating procedures to align with internal processes and standards
- Identify opportunities for innovation & and process optimization
- Investigate and resolve compliance issues, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
- Monitor and ensure program data is entered consistently and accurately
- Maintain program data integrity to ensure accurate reporting and invoicing
- Oversee Marketplace to ensure it functions effectively and meets the needs of the AFS Network
Training and Support:
- Collaborate with the training department to develop tools and resources focused on program processes
- Provide training and guidance to AFS network staff on standardized processes, compliance protocols, and best practices.
- Act as a point of contact for operational quality-related queries and escalation of concerns
Continuous Improvement:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process enhancements aligned with organizational values
- Leverage data, technology, and stakeholder insights to drive innovation in compliance
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate documentation of processes and compliance-related activities
- Prepare reports on quality metrics, compliance updates, and improvement initiatives as requested
Required Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as quality management, business administration, operations management, or data analytics. A related role involving quality management systems may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience: Equivalent professional experience of at least 3 years in quality assurance, operations, and/or project management.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills, with intercultural sensitivity and curiosity
In-depth understanding of program processes and workflows
Effective time management and adaptability in dynamic remote work environments
Experienced with Salesforce, AFS Global, Google Suite, and data analysis tools
Professional fluency in English required

Salary Range
$45,000-55,000 USD, depending on experience and location
