As we reflect on 2023, we are reminded once again of the profound impact of global exchange, youth leadership and volunteerism. The past year has been one of both growth and transformation for AFS, as we continued to foster intercultural understanding and build a more peaceful world through our programs and initiatives.
At the heart of AFS are the students, families, volunteers, educators, and partners who help bring our mission to life. This year, we are particularly proud of the strides made through our exchange programs, both in person and virtual, which are critical as the world faces increasingly complex global challenges.
Through initiatives like the AFS Youth Assembly we are advancing youth leadership and sustainable development worldwide. Our achievements this year would not have been possible without the dedication and support of our vast network. Volunteers continue to be the backbone of our organization, contributing their time, expertise, and passion to ensure the success of our programs. Additionally, the unwavering commitment of our partner organizations, host families, and educators has been instrumental in shaping meaningful experiences for our participants.
We firmly believe that building connections between individuals and communities across borders is key to fostering mutual understanding and empathy.
Looking ahead, we are excited to embark on new projects and initiatives aimed at expanding our reach and deepening our impact. AFS remains steadfast in its mission to develop global citizens, build bridges across cultures, and create positive social change. We are confident that the steps we’ve taken in 2023 have strengthened our foundation and positioned us for a future filled with growth, innovation, and continued success.
On behalf of the entire AFS team, thank you for your continued belief in and support of our work. Together, we are shaping a more just and inclusive world, one exchange at a time.
With gratitude,
