AFS is proud to offer scholarships for virtual exchange programs in Vietnam starting in 2024. This initiative is part of our efforts to expand educational opportunities to Vietnam, which was launched earlier this year when AFS awarded scholarships for study abroad programs to Vietnamese teens.

The virtual exchange scholarships will be available for two programs:
  1. AFS Global You Changemaker: This is a 12-week interactive virtual exchange program for teenagers (15-18 years old), to develop global competence skills, create innovative social impact projects, and earn certification from the University of Pennsylvania Center for Social Impact Strategy. The program is designed for young people who are curious about global issues, want to create positive social change in their community, or are interested in entrepreneurship, innovation, design, sustainable development, or social justice.
  2. AFS Global Up Educators: This is a 6-week, full-scholarship, virtual exchange program for in-service Educators worldwide (ages 18+) teaching at the secondary level (working with students ages 13-18). This online, interactive certificate program is designed for Educators to build the skills needed to become globally competent leaders and foster global competence in their school communities and beyond.

Bringing AFS programs to Vietnam aims to promote intercultural understanding, enhance education, foster global citizenship, and support the country’s social and economic development. Starting in 2024, AFS will offer a variety of educational programs for Vietnamese youth. In the coming years, AFS plans to expand its offerings to include high school exchange programs in Vietnam, allowing young people from around the world to experience Vietnamese culture and language firsthand.

Scholarship applications for both virtual programs are now open. Visit vietnam.afs.org to learn more and apply.
