A Global Community of STEM Changemakers
AFS Global STEM alumni form a network of more than 4,100 changemakers across the globe—founding social ventures, leading NGOs, and driving technical innovation across the public and private sectors. Through dedicated volunteerism and cross-border collaboration, our alumni are taking action to address the world’s most pressing social and environmental challenges, proving that a STEM background paired with a global mindset is a powerful tool for lasting change.
Our community is actively shaping the future through high-impact initiatives and world-class achievements. From developing breakthrough medical devices and transforming waste into sustainable income to earning national awards for educational excellence, our alumni are leading at every level. They are winning prestigious global grants for women’s empowerment and civic-tech projects, earning elite scholarships for astronaut training, and breaking barriers as first-generation students at top-tier universities. Whether advocating for accessibility rights, launching podcasts on AI ethics, or being selected for competitive international fellowships, these changemakers embody the limitless potential and collective spirit of the AFS Global STEM network.
