Explore the basics of Restorative Justice, an ancient practice used by various indigenous groups around the world to help heal tensions between people in conflict. This session will cover the practice of Restorative Justice, exploring where it could be useful within your programs and what additional resources exist. Restorative Justice only works if both parties “opt in” to the practice and typically involves slowing down, listening to understand each other’s perspective, and deciding together what “making amends” means within their context. The opportunity within RJ is that it can be transformative and healing for the parties involved.
