Hungary is where Eastern Europe meets the West. Its stunning capital of Budapest, once known as the “Paris of the East,” where the mighty Danube River paints a unique picture for the setting of the 2018 AFS Global Conference.

The event will take place in the Budapest Congress Center, at the heart of the this beautiful city. Discounted rates for conference attendees will be available at Novotel Budapest City, located next to the conference venue. Registrants should use the confirmation message they have received as proof of their attendance to the event when booking the hotel. AFS Hungary will provide supporting invitation letters, as needed.

Practical information

Hungary has a climate of four seasons and in September the fall starts. The days are still warm but not as hot as in the summer. Expect plenty of pleasant, sunny days, with the average temperature of 17°C, which makes September the fourth warmest month of the year, after July, August and June.

We advise you to check the weather forecast just before departure, in order to make your packing easier and your stay in Budapest more convenient.
