What is it?

PEAK stands for Professional Education and Knowledge. PEAK 1: Core Facilitation Skills is a virtual program that provides transferable facilitation skills and ongoing professional development where participants obtain skills to facilitate dialogue that synthesizes and deepens learning in a variety of contexts for both virtual and in-person audiences.

Who is this for?

This program is for anyone who wants to improve their dialogue facilitation skills in order to better facilitate AFS educational programs, virtual and/or in-person meetings, training, workshops and other events. 

What you will learn?

In this program, you will learn about:

  1. The foundations of facilitation: an introduction to dialogue and the role of a facilitator.
  2. Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging and how it relates to facilitation.
  3. How to manage personal triggers and check your unconscious biases while facilitating.
  4. Key facilitation skills such as active listening, asking effective questions and mirroring & summarizing.
  5. How to manage group dynamics and co-facilitation best practices.

What is the workload?

This is a 4 week program that consists of online content and in-person skills practice followed by a facilitation video and self reflection assignment.

👉 Facilitation video and self-reflection capstone (~ 45 min)
