What is it?
PEAK stands for Professional Education and Knowledge. PEAK 1: Core Facilitation Skills is a virtual program that provides transferable facilitation skills and ongoing professional development where participants obtain skills to facilitate dialogue that synthesizes and deepens learning in a variety of contexts for both virtual and in-person audiences.
Who is this for?
This program is for anyone who wants to improve their dialogue facilitation skills in order to better facilitate AFS educational programs, virtual and/or in-person meetings, training, workshops and other events.
What you will learn?
In this program, you will learn about:
- The foundations of facilitation: an introduction to dialogue and the role of a facilitator.
- Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging and how it relates to facilitation.
- How to manage personal triggers and check your unconscious biases while facilitating.
- Key facilitation skills such as active listening, asking effective questions and mirroring & summarizing.
- How to manage group dynamics and co-facilitation best practices.
What is the workload?
This is a 4 week program that consists of online content and in-person skills practice followed by a facilitation video and self reflection assignment.

🧑💻 Zoom Sessions (3 workshops of 2 hours each)
👉 Facilitation video and self-reflection capstone (~ 45 min)
