AFS Intercultural Programs is an international, voluntary, non-governmental, non-profit organization that provides intercultural learning opportunities to help people develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful world.

AFS collaborates with UN system entities to advance its mission and vision to empower more people to become Active Global Citizens: people whose informed, compassionate, and ethical compass drives them to lead lives and make decisions that contribute to a better world.

UN STI Forum

The ninth annual UN Multi-stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for the Sustainable Development Goals (STI Forum) will take place in May 2024, during the 2024 session of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

The collaborative STI Forum is convened annually by the ECOSOC President and is expected to discuss science, technology, and innovation cooperation around thematic areas for the implementation of the SDGs, congregating all relevant stakeholders to actively contribute in their areas of expertise. The Forum will result in a co-chairs’ summary of discussions.

ECOSOC Youth Forum

The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum will take place from 16 to 18 April 2024 at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

The Forum provides a global platform for dialogue among Member States and young leaders from around the world on solutions to challenges affecting youth wellbeing. It also serves as a unique space for young people to share their vision and actions as well as provide an opportunity to advance youth solutions to accelerate the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs.
