GYA Full Scholarship Application

Thanks to our generous donors, we are able to offer select scholarships to participate in the Global You Adventurer program. Applicants must pay a one-time enrollment & application fee of USD $6.00 to complete enrollment. Please note: Scholarship funds are not guaranteed. Scholarship award amounts are based on the funds available at the time of application.

To qualify, you must:

1. Be between 14 and 17 years old on the program start date (admission is permissible if the participant will turn 18 during the program).
2. Have general proficiency in English (ability to read written content including videos subtitled in English, comment in forums, and understand the live sessions).
3. Access a computer, smartphone or other digital device with an integrated webcam and mic plus a stable internet (wifi) connection for taking part in the online live sessions and to access the GY Program content and forum.
4. Be available to participate in the AFS Global You Adventurer program for your desired dates.
5. Share in 1,000 characters or less how your community could be improved by embracing the power of diversity (using the application form provided to you).
6. Pay a one-time application & enrollment fee of USD $6.00. Your program tuition will be fully waived.
7. Commit to share a follow up reflection with us in 1,000 characters or less after you complete the AFS Global You Adventurer program.

Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and are awarded in order based on the applicants’ desired program start dates. Priority will be given to students from underrepresented backgrounds and communities. Selected partial scholarship awardees will be notified via email and will be provided with a secure link to complete their enrollment.

We will notify scholarship recipients in writing by email prior to their respective cohort start date. Awardees must accept the award by completing enrollment, or decline the scholarship award in writing (via email). If the awardee declines the award, the scholarship will no longer be available to them and waitlisted awardees will be notified in their place.
