200 scholarships will support students aged 15–20 through a 12-week global virtual exchange program focused on STEM, sustainability, and social impact across global and Pan-African cohorts.
AFS Intercultural Programs is offering 200 full scholarships for the Global STEM Changemakers virtual exchange program in 2026, an award-winning initiative designed to equip young people with skills in sustainability, global citizenship, and social impact. The program gives secondary school students a unique opportunity to earn a university-level certificate while developing solutions to real-world global challenges.
“In the pursuit of a more sustainable world, we believe it is essential to empower young people with the skills and global perspectives they need to create meaningful change,” said Sean Reilly, Director of Program Development at AFS. “We are excited to welcome a new generation of changemakers and help them turn their ideas into impact in their communities and beyond.”
Over 12 weeks, secondary students worldwide will participate in AFS’s award-winning virtual exchange in changemaking, developed with the University of Pennsylvania Center for Social Impact Strategy (Penn CSIS). Participants design social impact capstone projects that aim to address urgent challenges and opportunities, such as climate and artificial intelligence. Upon completion, scholars earn the Advanced Certificate from AFS and Penn CSIS, and join a robust network of global alumni, peers, and mentors.
In 2026, the program will offer two cohorts (each running from 30 August–22 November):
- Global Cohort: 100 scholarships for students worldwide
- Pan-African Cohort: 100 scholarships for students from Angola, Ghana, Nigeria, Mauritania, and Senegal (20 scholars per country)
Applicants must be aged 15–20 and able to participate fully in English. Supplementary support will be available in French, Arabic, and Portuguese, but English is the primary language of instruction.
Funding for the Global STEM Changemakers is provided by bp, supporting efforts to build a more sustainable future while advancing diversity and inclusion in STEM.

AFS annonce l’octroi de 200 bourses d’études complètes destinées aux lycéens dans le cadre du programme « Global STEM Changemakers »
Ces 200 bourses permettront à des élèves âgés de 15 à 20 ans de participer à un programme d’échange virtuel international de 12 semaines axé sur les STEM, le développement durable et l’impact social, au sein de cohortes internationales et panafricaines.
AFS Intercultural Programs propose 200 bourses intégrales pour le programme d’échange virtuel « Global STEM Changemakers » en 2026, une initiative primée conçue pour doter les jeunes de compétences en matière de développement durable, de citoyenneté mondiale et d’impact social. Ce programme offre aux lycéens une occasion unique d’obtenir un certificat de niveau universitaire tout en élaborant des solutions à des défis mondiaux concrets.
« Dans la quête d’un monde plus durable, nous pensons qu’il est essentiel de donner aux jeunes les compétences et la vision mondiale dont ils ont besoin pour apporter un changement significatif », a déclaré Sean Reilly, directeur du développement des programmes chez AFS. « Nous sommes ravis d’accueillir une nouvelle génération d’acteurs du changement et de les aider à transformer leurs idées en actions concrètes au sein de leurs communautés et au-delà. »
Pendant 12 semaines, des lycéens du monde entier participeront au programme d’échange virtuel primé de l’AFS consacré à l’action sociale, développé en collaboration avec le Center for Social Impact Strategy (Penn CSIS) de l’Université de Pennsylvanie. Les participants conçoivent des projets de fin d’études à impact social visant à répondre à des défis urgents et à saisir des opportunités, notamment dans les domaines du climat et de l’intelligence artificielle. À l’issue du programme, les boursiers obtiennent le certificat avancé délivré par l’AFS et le Penn CSIS, et rejoignent un vaste réseau mondial d’anciens participants, de pairs et de mentors.
En 2026, le programme proposera deux promotions (chacune se déroulant du 31 août au 22 novembre) :
- Promotion mondiale : 100 bourses pour des élèves du monde entier
- Promotion panafricaine : 100 bourses pour des élèves originaires d’Angola, du Ghana, du Nigeria, de Mauritanie, et du Sénégal (20 boursiers par pays)
Les candidats doivent être âgés de 15 à 20 ans et être capables de participer pleinement en anglais. Un accompagnement supplémentaire sera proposé en français, en arabe et en portugais, mais l’anglais reste la langue principale d’enseignement.
Le programme « Global STEM Changemakers » est financé par bp, qui soutient ainsi les efforts visant à bâtir un avenir plus durable tout en favorisant la diversité et l’inclusion dans les domaines des sciences, des technologies, de l’ingénierie et des mathématiques (STEM).

AFS Anuncia 200 Bolsas de Estudo Integrais para Jovens Participarem do Programa Global STEM Changemakers
200 bolsas de estudo serão destinadas a jovens de 15 a 20 anos para participarem de um programa de intercâmbio virtual de 12 semanas, focado nas áreas de STEM (Ciência, Tecnologia, Engenharia e Matemática), sustentabilidade e impacto social, com turmas globais e pan-africanas.
AFS Intercultural Programs está oferecendo 200 bolsas de estudo integrais (100% gratuitas) para o programa de intercâmbio virtual Global STEM Changemakers em 2026. Esta iniciativa premiada foi criada para capacitar jovens com competências em sustentabilidade, cidadania global e impacto social. O programa oferece aos jovens uma oportunidade única de obter um certificado de nível universitário enquanto desenvolvem soluções concretas para desafios globais.
“Na busca por um mundo mais sustentável, acreditamos que é fundamental capacitar os jovens com as competências e as perspectivas globais de que precisam para promover mudanças significativas”, disse Sean Reilly, Diretor de Desenvolvimento de Programas da AFS. “Estamos entusiasmados em acolher uma nova geração de agentes de mudança e ajudá-los a transformar suas ideias em impacto positivo, tanto em suas comunidades quanto além delas.”
